1. Booking & Payment

1.1 All bookings require a non-refundable advance per person, shown on each journey's page. The remaining balance is due 30 days before departure.

1.2 Bookings made within 7 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking. No advance-only option applies.

1.3 Ettiq Trails reserves the right to cancel any booking if payment is not received by the due date. The advance will not be refunded in such cases.

2. Cancellation & Refund

2.1 Cancellation by participant:

• More than 30 days before departure: 50% refund of the total trek price (excluding advance).
• 15-30 days before departure: 25% refund of the total trek price (excluding advance).
• Less than 15 days before departure: No refund.
• The advance paid at booking (shown on each journey's page) is non-refundable in all cases.

2.2 You may transfer your booking to another person at no cost. Inform us at least 48 hours before departure with the new participant's details.

2.3 Ettiq Trails may cancel or reschedule a trek due to weather, natural disaster, political unrest, insufficient registrations, or force majeure. In such cases, a full refund is provided or the booking is transferred to a future date, participant's choice.

3. Health & Fitness

3.1 Participants must honestly disclose all medical conditions, allergies, and medications in the Medical Declaration form. Failure to disclose may result in removal from the trek without refund.

3.2 High-altitude trekking (above 3,000m) carries inherent risks including Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Participants are responsible for their own fitness and acclimatization. Ettiq Trails provides trained guides, first aid, and emergency protocols but cannot guarantee immunity from altitude-related illnesses.

3.3 If a guide determines a participant is unfit to continue (due to AMS, injury, or exhaustion), the participant must descend. Costs of early departure (transport, accommodation, medical) are the participant's responsibility. No refund applies for unused trek days.

4. Liability Waiver

4.1 Trekking, camping, and high-altitude travel involve inherent risks including but not limited to: AMS, injury, weather, wild animals, landslides, and transport accidents. Ettiq Trails takes all reasonable precautions but cannot eliminate these risks.

4.2 By participating, you agree that Ettiq Trails, its founder, guides, and partners are not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to property arising from these inherent risks, except in cases of proven negligence.

4.3 You acknowledge this waiver by signing the Liability Acknowledgement section of the Intake Form (submitted after booking).

5. Travel Insurance

5.1 Travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking (up to 5,500m), emergency medical evacuation, and trip cancellation is strongly recommended but not provided by Ettiq Trails.

5.2 Participants without adequate insurance bear all costs of emergency evacuation, hospitalization, or early departure.

6. Conduct

6.1 Leave No Trace. Pack out all waste. Respect local communities, wildlife, and other trekkers.

6.2 No smoking on the trail (fire hazard). Alcohol is permitted in moderation at campsites only, at your own risk.

6.3 Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour toward fellow trekkers, guides, or locals will result in removal from the trek without refund.

7. Photography & Media

7.1 Ettiq Trails may photograph or film treks for promotional purposes. You can opt out via the Photo Consent checkbox in the Intake Form. We never use your image without permission.
