Day-by-day Itinerary
Drive: Kathgodam → Lohajung
Pickup from Kathgodam. 8–9 hr scenic drive through Kumaon hills. Village dinner, trip briefing, early sleep.
Lohajung → Didna Village
Trek begins through oak and rhododendron forests. Gradual ascent. Village homestay with local family.
Didna → Ali Bugyal
Forests open into vast rolling meadows. First dramatic views of Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. Camp in the meadows at sunset.
Ali Bugyal → Bedni Bugyal
Walk across the famous Bedni meadow. Visit the ancient Briju Maharaj temple. Camp by the bugyal stream.
Bedni → Kalu Vinayak
Gradual altitude gain. Rocky terrain starts. Kalu Vinayak shrine at the base of the upper zone — offerings, acclimatization rest.
Kalu Vinayak → Bhagwabasa
High camp at 4,500m. Last water source. Rest afternoon. Stars are insane from here. Sleep early for summit push.
Summit Day: Roopkund → Bedni
3am start. Summit push to the lake at 5,029m. Skeletal remains at the glacier's edge. Long descent to Bedni.
Bedni → Lohajung
Long descent through meadows, forests, and villages. Last night in the mountains.
Drive: Lohajung → Kathgodam
Morning drop to Kathgodam. Trek ends. See you on the next one.

FAQs
How fit do I need to be?
Walk 8–12 km a day with a daypack without gasping. 3–4 weeks of cardio before the trek is recommended. No technical climbing skills needed.
Is altitude sickness a risk?
Yes — Roopkund crosses 5,000m. Our guide carries pulse oximeters and first aid. We follow strict acclimatization. Anyone with AMS symptoms will be escorted down immediately.
Can I join solo?
Yes. Most of our trekkers join solo. You'll be part of a group of 6–14 matched people.
