Day-by-day Itinerary
Drive: Shimla → Reckong Peo → Kalpa
Arrive Kalpa. Kinner Kailash first sighting from guesthouse.
Kalpa → Charang village
Parikrama begins. Steep ascent to Charang.
Charang → High Camp (4,800m)
The hardest day. Rockfall zone, exposed trail, high camp.
High Camp → Shivalingam darshan → Descent
Sacred site at the base of the peak. Circuit descent begins.
Descent → Powari
Complete the circuit. Return to Sutlej Valley.
Drive: Powari → Shimla
Trek ends.

Is this a pilgrimage or a trek?
Both. Most people doing the parikrama are Kinnauri pilgrims. We join the circuit with respect for the tradition. The trek is physically demanding regardless of motivation.
